No cookie-cutter feeling at this Vieques hotel!
Hacienda Tamarindo is a hotel on Vieques island that offers a small hotel/boutique atmosphere in a building that was converted from a roadhouse bar to a dance hall which ultimately added a restaurant. As the original owner’s health was failing he sold to an American couple with the dream of opening a hotel—the kind of hotel they would want to stay in when they went on vacation.
As a result the rooms, suites and villa at Hacienda Tamarindo are individually decorated to give guests a sense of “home away from home”.
The louvered ventanas capture the tropical breezes. Lazy ceiling fans waft the air throughout. Each room offers a comfortable space with all the amenities one will need to spend a relaxing day at the pool, in a hammock, or going off to the beach for the day. All rooms have private baths and offer hairdryer, beach/pool towels, a cooler and chairs for the beach. All are air conditioned if the Trade Winds don’t offer enough of a cool breeze. The Caribbean Rooms feature Mahogany louvered doors that open wide, to face the stunning Caribbean views. The Caribbean Deluxe rooms also enjoy the luxury of a private terrace. Some rooms also have refrigerators. Daily maid service means you don’t have to make your own bed.
Naturally, this Vieques hotel makes every effort to conserve the island’s precious resources and is a Trip Advisor gold level Green Leader.
Hacienda Tamarindo offers different types of bed configurations in the different rooms, which allows the hotel to accommodate parties from couples, to families, to groups. It is important to note a preference when making a reservation to assure the exact accommodation one anticipates.
The rooms at Hacienda Tamarindo offer something for nearly everyone.
