Hacienda Tamarindo and all our staff made it through hurricane Maria. We are working hard to put our lives and our homes back together again, and grateful for the all the support you have given over the past few weeks.
The hotel itself suffered relatively little damage. We will need some spiffing up, new paint and furniture, etc., and a lot of landscaping. Having said that, we are open for business on a limited basis. We most of the time have water, our generator is operating from evening until morning so guests can have air conditioning, hot showers, and toast and coffee for breakfast. However, the limited services have been much appreciated by the FEMA workers, contractors, and homeowners who have returned to the island to survey their own damage.
There is limited cell service, no internet service, no regular telephone service, and no electricity.
The damage repair is ongoing and we hope to be open for part of the season. We will post updates as we know more.
If you need a room or want more information, our cell phone sometimes works (787-362-3324), and our email: firstname.lastname@example.org works, mostly from my current location in Vermont.
